Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working on-site, the Site Operations Supervisor will oversee on-site personnel and equipment to fulfill customer requirements. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and personnel on-site.
  • Coordinate staff and equipment to meet contractual obligations.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts in collaboration with HR.
  • Foster a safe working environment by developing and implementing safety procedures with the HSE team.
  • Create personnel schedules.
  • Maintain a strong field presence, conducting inspections and site tours.
  • Participate in ride-alongs with team members.
  • Inspect equipment daily to ensure readiness and compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Identify and rectify deficiencies.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for employees.
  • Ensure ongoing training compliance for yourself and your team.
  • Manage disciplinary actions in accordance with HR policies.
  • Review necessary documentation from employees.
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all assigned equipment.
  • Operate equipment as required to provide personnel coverage.
  • Attend monthly meetings with clients.
  • Adhere to and enforce all company and client policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and lead daily toolbox talks on relevant topics.
  • Provide necessary reporting information.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for laydown yards.
  • Assess and address hazards in the field promptly.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at cost savings.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Oversee company vehicle maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license (class 1 preferred) with a clean driving record.
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in fuel hauling is an asset.
  • NCSO Designation or working towards it.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in customer relations.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and planning skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Maintain up-to-date training certificates and tickets, including: Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Provincial Hours of Service, Daily Trip Inspections, Weights and Dimensions.
