Miller Paving AMC is actively seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Winter Works Combo/Plow Operators. The winter maintenance season typically spans from October through April, contingent on weather conditions. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Key Qualifications:
- Valid DZ License with a clean Driver's Abstract
- Experience in snow and ice management, along with familiarity with OTM Book 7
- Understanding of highway maintenance practices
- Willingness to operate in severe weather conditions
- Availability for assigned shifts, including extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as necessitated by winter events
Role Overview
As a Winter Maintenance Operator, you will play a crucial role in our winter operations team. Your responsibilities will include conducting roadway maintenance on provincial highways, responding to emergencies such as spills and accidents during adverse weather, and assisting in the execution of emergency plans, including traffic control at accident sites as per contractual obligations.
When not actively patrolling, you will be responsible for maintaining precise documentation, including fuel and safety reports, as well as hours of service. Routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment will also be part of your duties. You will be expected to make informed snow and ice control decisions, initiate equipment and operator call-outs, inspect patrols, and compile deficiency lists for the Foreperson. Additionally, you will address public inquiries and operate various types of equipment.
