About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Patroller to join our team at Miller Maintenance. As a Winter Patroller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our communities by performing road maintenance activities on provincial highways, responding to emergency situations, and implementing emergency plans.

As a key member of our winter maintenance team, you will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment, inspecting patrols, and creating deficient lists for the Foreperson. You will also be required to respond to public complaints and operate a variety of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways
  • Respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather
  • Implement emergency plans and provide traffic control at accident scenes
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders
  • Inspect patrols and create deficient lists for the Foreperson
  • Respond to public complaints and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
  • Valid DZ License with a clean Driver's Abstract
  • Experience in snow and ice control, including knowledge of OTM Book 7
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance and transportation infrastructure
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and extended hours
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
