Position Summary : Teens Camp
The DC Department of Human Resources is committed to fostering youth development through the Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP). This initiative offers young individuals the chance to cultivate essential work habits, develop positive attitudes, and acquire valuable skills that prepare them for future employment. The ideal candidate will take on the role of a mentor, guiding teens towards achieving their personal and professional goals while serving as a supportive advocate for their growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Content Specialist
• Demonstrate and explain artistic techniques relevant to the designated content area
• Assess participants' classwork, performances, projects, and assignments
• Facilitate and lead classroom discussions
• Maintain accurate attendance records and other necessary documentation
• Prepare instructional materials for both virtual and in-person classes
• Guide participants in preparing for performances, exhibitions, and evaluations
• Design, assess, and refine course content, materials, and teaching methods
• Counsel participants on academic and vocational pathways and career opportunities
• Organize performance groups and oversee their rehearsals
• Coordinate a culminating project or performance at the end of the course

Administrative Clerk
• Review and reconcile time and attendance documents, reports, and worksite information
• Process documentation for new hires and input employee data into the payroll system
• Distribute and collect time and attendance records
• Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and compile information for payroll reports
• Issue and document adjustments to pay related to prior errors or retroactive increases
• Maintain and update payroll records for employee referrals, transfers, and terminations
• Generate and report on participant earnings and deductions
• Manage records for all participant program and payroll data.
• Provide guidance to agency employees and managers on payroll-related matters.
• Demonstrate knowledge of payroll processing, identity security, and auditing practices.
• Compile and submit statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to payroll accounts.
• Process requests for participant employment verifications.
• Prepare and balance end-of-period reports and reconcile payrolls against close-out reports.
• Deliver customer service to all participants, agency staff, and stakeholders.
• Conduct training and orientation sessions on payroll processing and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience :
Content Specialist

• 2-3 years of experience working with youth of various age groups
• 1-2 years of leadership experience
