Job Title: Intermediate Youth Worker

At Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Youth Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality programs and services to our young members.

Job Summary:

The Intermediate Youth Worker will be responsible for leading assigned programs, implementing structured activities, and creating engaging experiences for children and youth. This role requires a strong ability to work effectively with children and youth, as well as a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and counseling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and implement assigned programs, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Develop and deliver engaging activities, workshops, and events that promote youth development and well-being.
  • Provide mentoring and counseling services to members, as needed, to support their personal growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless program delivery and effective communication with parents and caregivers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program evaluations and assessments to measure impact and inform program improvements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a child and youth-related field, with a focus on program leadership and delivery.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and counseling, with a strong understanding of youth development principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License and comfortable driving members to/from events, if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth in afterschool programs and/or summer camps.
  • Experience delivering physical activity, sport, and recreation activities.
  • Experience delivering creative arts programming.
  • Experience delivering sports and recreation programming.
  • Multilingualism, with proficiency in French, Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages.
