The University Health Network is seeking a dynamic and people-focused leader to fill the role of Director, Environmental Services and Patient Transportation. This position is responsible for delivering patient-centered, efficient environmental cleaning services, patient transportation, linen and laundry services, waste management, and other ancillary support services across multiple UHN sites.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to deliver cleaning services, patient transportation, linen and laundry services, waste management, and other support services in a patient-centered, efficient, cost-effective, and industry-leading manner.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, coach, mentor, and support a large, diverse group of unionized and non-union team members across multiple sites.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement: Accountable for departmental benchmarking, quality assurance, work scheduling, and customer service programs, in alignment with UHN initiatives.
- Service Improvement Initiatives: Lead quality and service improvement initiatives, monitor outcomes, develop action plans, and collaborate with site and corporate leadership to maintain and improve quality standards.
- Financial Management: Manage annual budget, monitor financial reports, reconcile variances, and lead strategies to achieve plan.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Lead and collaborate in hospital-wide initiatives as a practice expert. Contribute to corporate efforts to advance UHN's mission, values, and goals. Provide consultation on federal, provincial, and municipal code requirements.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant support services leadership experience.
- Team Management: Extensive experience leading large, diverse groups of unionized and non-unionized leadership and support teams across multiple sites.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong change management, leadership, and motivational skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Financial Management: Experience managing large financial budgets.
- Education: At minimum, completion of a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or recognized equivalent required. Completion of a Masters of Business Administration would be an asset.
