We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Executive Director to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare in our province.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our Zone Medical Executive Director team, ensuring that our clinical services are delivered in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. You will work closely with our Vice President of Medicine and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans, drive quality improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic business advice and medical expertise to our executive team and senior leaders
- Leading the development and implementation of operational and clinical strategies, programs, and initiatives
- Ensuring that all health services and activities delivered are aligned with our organization's objectives
- Collaborating with other Zones to deliver effective, quality, and safe patient-centered care
- Driving improvement and innovation in service delivery models and achieving agreed-upon outcome and performance goals
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader who possesses a strong track record of achievement in healthcare leadership, strategic planning, and quality improvement. You will have a Medical Doctorate (with or without specialty) and evidence of past and ongoing leadership training. A CCPE/MBA/CHE is preferred.
Key qualifications include:
- 5-7 years' experience at a senior leadership level involved in the planning and delivering medical programs and services
- Experience engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner
- Successful record of achievement as a leader, including extensive experience in improvement and innovation in service delivery
- Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both verbal and written
