Villa Providence is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team.

About the Role

  • Administer medications as prescribed and document medication administration in resident records in accordance with protocol;
  • Guide and orient other members of the care team;
  • Obtain and record vital signs;
  • Monitor and record blood glucose levels;
  • Perform catheterizations and provide catheter care;
  • Collect specimens such as sputum, urine, and stool;
  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as basic care;
  • Transfer and position residents while maintaining proper body mechanics and using appropriate equipment;
  • Observe bowel care programs;
  • Respond to resident call bells;
  • Assist residents with mobility, range of motion, and exercise;
  • Monitor the amount of food, fiber, and liquids consumed by residents and provide necessary assistance;
  • Provide palliative care to residents and support to their families;
  • Provide post-mortem care;
  • Communicate with residents, families, care team members, healthcare professionals, or other services regarding resident needs;
  • Evaluate, monitor, and document resident health status and behavior, and communicate results to registered nurses;
  • Participate in various meetings;
  • Other tasks delegated by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Diploma from a recognized nursing and nursing assistants program in New Brunswick;
  • Effective communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal;
  • Leadership, organization, and teamwork skills;
  • Physical and mental abilities to meet the demands of the position;
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development.

Important Note

A complete COVID-19 vaccination or a valid medical exemption is a required condition of employment.

Compensation

According to the collective agreement, starting at scale A $29.04 per hour.
