About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the Zone Directors of Diagnostic Imaging/Cardiac Investigation, Lab & Pathology Medicine, and Pharmacy Services. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Zone Director of DI/CIU and be responsible for a wide range of administrative, secretarial, and coordination duties.

About You
  • We are looking for a candidate with a Grade 12 plus a post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program.
  • A minimum of five years experience in a health care environment providing administrative support & office coordination at the executive level is required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess considerable organization and time management skills necessary to assist in management of administrative documents which are required for completion on an ongoing basis.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to set priorities to meet demanding timelines and work independently is essential.
  • The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient and accurate keyboarding skills are required.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Lync), SAP and other software is necessary.
  • Knowledge of standards for documentation, experience in preparation of formal documents, including letters, memorandums, reports and presentations is an asset.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality is a must.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
Hours
  • This is a permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly.
Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $29.93.
