Strategic HR Partner

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a skilled HR Business Partner within our manufacturing division. This pivotal role is designed to support various client groups and enhance the operational effectiveness of our facility. The successful candidate will offer strategic guidance on talent management, including onboarding, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, compensation strategies, employee engagement, recruitment, and labor relations.
Our Ideal Candidate: is business-oriented, possesses strong influencing capabilities, remains composed under pressure, and is adept at multitasking. You should be able to view situations from multiple perspectives and feel confident in challenging existing strategies. Utilizing data and talent insights, you will engage stakeholders to drive overall company performance linked to plant efficiency and productivity improvements. Building trust-based relationships with both leaders and employees is essential, alongside having substantial HR experience in a generalist role (3+ years).
Key Responsibilities:- Foster a culture of high performance through effective coaching and feedback for leaders.
- Advise leaders on the optimal use of professional development plans, performance improvement initiatives, and progressive discipline.
- Guide leaders in creating an environment where positive employee relations are fundamental to achieving high engagement and retention, supporting business objectives.
- Manage all labor relations matters at the facility, including grievance resolution.
- Assist in the development of employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee STD, LTD, and Workers Compensation claims, ensuring a safe return-to-work process.
- Contribute to the People Development and Cultural Development initiatives.
- Support internal investigations related to employment issues.
- Interpret and implement relevant employment practices, including employment legislation and collective agreements.
- Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, applying this knowledge to communicate policy changes to plant teams.
- Collaborate with the broader HR team on Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards strategies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
About You:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Business and/or Human Resources, complemented by relevant experience in a human resources generalist role. Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in a unionized context, is preferred.
- Proven experience in cultivating a people-centric workplace culture within a growing organization.
- Strong understanding of HR practices and principles.
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
- Demonstrated consulting and coaching abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship building and influence.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- A positive, customer-focused attitude that allows for effective handling of challenging situations with integrity and empathy.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and MS Office.
