At Standard BioTools Inc., we're pushing the boundaries of life sciences innovation. As an Instrumentation Scientist, you'll be part of a pioneering team driving cutting-edge research in mass cytometry.

Our team is passionate about harnessing the power of technology to accelerate global research on multiple frontiers of human health. We're seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our Proteomics Operations team, focusing on inventing and researching new instrumentation for mass cytometry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and develop concepts for sub-units of mass cytometry instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with product management to align technology capabilities with future customer needs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to transfer promising research concepts into development.
  • Write invention disclosures and assist with patent applications.
  • Troubleshoot complex malfunctions and generate data from research concepts or troubleshooting experiments.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Physical Sciences or engineering Physics, plus 10+ years of experience in a lab environment.
  • Strong background in physics, including optics, ion optics, gas dynamics, aerosols, chemical physics, electronics, and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to work with simulation tools and conduct basic data analysis.
  • Experience in designing and testing assemblies of mass spectrometers is highly desirable.
