Job Title: Small Business Counsellor

Join SOUTH GRANVILLE BUSINESS COLLEGE as a Small Business Counsellor and contribute to the growth and development of rural and urban areas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administering programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment, supervising professional and support staff, and providing advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop policies and procedures to promote business growth and development.
  • Supervise a team of more than 20 people to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas.
  • Provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals.
  • Conduct surveys and analyze data on the buying habits and preferences of wholesale and retail consumers.
  • Develop social and economic profiles of an area to encourage industrial and commercial investment.
  • Conduct comparative research on marketing strategies for industrial and commercial products.
  • Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts, or articles on business development and growth.
  • Provide consulting services to government and other organizations on business development and growth.
  • Conduct analytical marketing studies to identify trends and opportunities for business growth.
  • Review and evaluate commercial or industrial development proposals to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Design market research questionnaires to gather data on consumer behavior and preferences.
  • Develop a portfolio of marketing materials to promote business growth and development.
  • Evaluate customer service and store environments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze quantitative and qualitative research projects to inform business decisions.
  • Develop feasibility studies to assess the viability of business ideas.
  • Conduct online marketing, E-commerce, and Website promotions to reach a wider audience.
  • Maintain a database of potential franchisees, real estate locations, and online buy/sell Internet sites.
  • Prepare funding applications to secure resources for business growth and development.
  • Provide consultation on planning and starting new businesses.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote business growth and development.
  • Ensure appropriate business/commercial licenses are in place to operate legally.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia to share knowledge and expertise.
  • Develop and implement business plans to achieve business goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in business development and growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

The Small Business Counsellor will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload and tight deadlines. The role requires attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
