About the Role:

SOUTH GRANVILLE BUSINESS COLLEGE is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Consultant to join our team. As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for developing policies, supervising staff and students, and administering programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop policies and procedures to promote business growth and development
  • Supervise professional and support staff and students to ensure effective program delivery
  • Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas
  • Perform administrative tasks to support business development initiatives
  • Plan and develop projects to promote business growth and development
  • Develop venture capital sources to support business growth and development
  • Recruit and hire staff to support business development initiatives
  • Respond to enquiries from members of the business community concerning development opportunities
  • Provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals
  • Conduct surveys and analyze data on the buying habits and preferences of wholesale and retail consumers
  • Develop social and economic profiles of an area to encourage industrial and commercial investment
  • Conduct comparative research on marketing strategies for industrial and commercial products
  • Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts or articles to support business development initiatives
  • Provide consulting services to government and other organizations to support business development initiatives
  • Conduct analytical marketing studies to support business development initiatives
  • Conduct social or economic surveys on local, regional, or international areas to assess development of potential and future trends
  • Review and evaluate commercial or industrial development proposals to support business development initiatives
  • Design market research questionnaires to support business development initiatives
  • Develop portfolio of marketing materials to support business development initiatives
  • Evaluate customer service and store environments to support business development initiatives
  • Design, conduct and analyze quantitative and qualitative research projects to support business development initiatives
  • Develop feasibility studies to support business development initiatives
  • Conduct online marketing, E-commerce and Website promotions to support business development initiatives
  • Maintain database of potential franchisees, real estate locations and on-line buy/sell Internet sites to support business development initiatives
  • Prepare funding applications to support business development initiatives
  • Provide consultation on planning and starting of new businesses to support business development initiatives
  • Develop marketing strategies to support business development initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate business/commercial licenses are in place to support business development initiatives
  • Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia to support business development initiatives
  • Develop and implement business plans to support business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in business development or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
