Field Evaluations Representative

Job Overview:

We are seeking applications for a Field Evaluations Representative specializing in electrical assessments. This role involves providing specialized inspection and evaluation services primarily within Quebec, while also extending support to international clients as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough technical assessments of non-certified electrical equipment in accordance with the SPE-1000 code and other relevant standards. Ensures compliance with safety regulations to mitigate fire and shock hazards. Evaluations are based on field assessments and rigorous testing protocols.
  • Engages with clients professionally to arrange inspection schedules, clarify pricing structures, address inquiries, and offer technical guidance aligned with the Field Evaluation program. Reviews and assesses technical drawings submitted for evaluation.
  • Prepares detailed technical reports outlining necessary modifications for equipment that does not meet standards.
  • Discusses corrective actions with clients to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Conducts research on technical standards and procedural guidelines to enhance evaluation processes.
  • Collaborates with engineering teams and laboratory personnel regarding procedural matters and historical practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Technology or a related field, such as electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience with certification and laboratory testing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and standard operating procedures is essential.

Required Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken, is crucial.
  • Ability to manage multiple inspection projects and adapt to changing schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and test results as necessary for job completion.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities; self-motivated with effective decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills to navigate challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
  • Experience with calibrated measurement tools, high-voltage testing equipment, and hand tools.
