Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • One year of acute clinical care experience within the last 3 years.
  • Satisfactory employment record and active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients and delegate care appropriately.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
