Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Mechanic Helper at STEELHEAD TRUCK AND TRAILER REPAIR LTD. As a Mechanic Helper, you will assist our experienced mechanics in performing various tasks related to truck and trailer repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist mechanics in moving tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
  • Hold stakes during surveying activities to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Provide support to tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed by supervisors.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Work Environment

As a Mechanic Helper, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a team of experienced mechanics. The work site environment is noisy and dusty, and you must be able to work in these conditions for extended periods.

Requirements
  • Physically demanding work requiring manual dexterity and the ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as required.
