About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Physiotherapist - Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with cardiac conditions.

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, Primary Health Care, Chronic Disease Management and Wellness, you will utilize behavior change methods, case management, and client-centered approaches in individual or group settings. You will collaborate with Primary Health Care staff, family physicians, other healthcare providers, and community groups to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing exercise programs for patients with cardiac conditions
  • Providing guidance and support for clients, including information about appropriate supports and programs that meet their health and wellness needs
  • Collaborating with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solve problems, and share responsibilities
  • Completing intake assessments and facilitating group exercise programs
  • Traveling to various community locations throughout the zone

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university, membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists, and eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Experience providing group exercise prescriptions or other community programming is an asset. A valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable car for travel are required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Experience providing group exercise prescriptions or other community programming
  • Valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable car for travel

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts include days, nights, and weekends
  • Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Benefits

$33.96 - $42.89 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
