Role Overview

The Lead Data Scientist plays a pivotal role within our organization:

  • Champion a data-driven culture at Nurun.
  • Oversee projects and provide support to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in project estimation and define quality standards;
  • Serve as a technical resource for project teams;
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, and emerging tools related to data (Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, etc.).
  • Help shape the vision for data practices (Analytics & AI) within the organization and contribute to the evolution of our service offerings and tools;
  • Promote data accessibility within Nurun;

Consulting Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performance evaluations, establish measurement goals, and monitor performance during initial project phases;
  • Advise on and implement best practices for data organization and structuring.
  • Develop dashboards and configure visualization tools for clients.
  • Facilitate the implementation of performance monitoring tools and analyze client digital product performance.
  • Support clients in integrating machine learning models into their products.


Qualifications

  • Bilingual: fluent in French and English (essential).
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, business administration, economics, or finance.
  • Skilled in presenting and sharing enthusiasm for data with colleagues.
  • Proficient in accessing various databases and creating advanced queries for data analysis, with strong SQL skills and expertise in Python or R.
  • Demonstrated statistical experience in machine learning, including model creation and maintenance, as well as mentoring analysts in effective problem-solving methods.
  • Advanced understanding of data models, infrastructure, and architecture.
  • Adept at managing ambiguity, especially with clients who may lack clarity on data-driven decisions.
  • Proven expertise in data quality, including knowledge of cleansing techniques and data integrity verification.
  • Strong ability to visualize data using tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Quicksight, or similar.
  • Capable of integrating and analyzing diverse data sets to provide clear and accurate insights to various audiences.
  • Good knowledge of Google Analytics 4.
