Slacan Industries Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of Poleline Hardware, serving the OEM market in various industries, including agriculture, mining, and more. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot/cold stampings, and weldments.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, responsible for implementing new and modified manufacturing processes on the shop floor. This includes specification, design, installation, commissioning, and ongoing daily support with a focus on automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute shop floor improvements on existing lines to enhance output and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support for various shop floor processes and equipment, including hot forging, machining, assembly, robotics, and welding.
  • Champion new automation projects and methodically analyze and implement cost improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support ISO requirements and manage tooling vendors to resolve tooling issues.
  • Support plant-level departments to meet plant goals and perform studies and reviews as required.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing/process engineering experience.
  • Experience in forging, shearing, induction heating, robotics, threading, machining, welding, and heat treating is considered an advantage.
  • ISO/IATF exposure and good working knowledge of 3D CAD software (Solidworks) are also advantageous.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement projects and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
