The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of Strategic Policy Advisor in Construction Codes, contributing to our Research Center focused on construction innovation. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in impactful research initiatives within Canada's foremost research and technology institution.

Your Responsibilities

As a Strategic Policy Advisor, you will collaborate with a team of professionals dedicated to enhancing the construction landscape in Canada. Your role will involve working within the Codes Canada division to assist in the formulation and enhancement of the national construction codes framework.

We seek seasoned policy advisors capable of partnering with technical specialists, offering strategic and regulatory insights, and liaising with industry stakeholders. Successful candidates will be instrumental in addressing strategic considerations pertaining to building design, construction practices, and operational standards.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, political science, or building science. Relevant experience may be taken into account.
  • Extensive experience in managing intricate technical projects.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic counsel on complex policy matters to senior leadership.
  • Experience in supporting high-level committees and collaborative working groups.
  • Familiarity with construction codes or standards is advantageous.
  • Background in federal or provincial public service related to construction policy is a plus.
  • Experience in program management and coordination of research projects is beneficial.
