About the Role

As a Mental Health and Addictions Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, and community partners to empower them on their journey to recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to clients, including emotional support, counseling, and assistance with daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with clients in developing individualized care plans and monitor their progress towards goals.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on mental health and addiction recovery.
  • Coordinate services with medical professionals, social workers, and other community resources to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client interactions and progress.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker program.
  • Two years of relevant experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
  • Strong understanding of mental health and addiction issues, including trauma-informed care principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to cultural safety and anti-racism practices.
