Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Anesthetic Care Unit at BC Children's Hospital plays a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to young patients and their families. This role encompasses comprehensive patient evaluations, therapeutic interventions, educational support for families, and initiatives aimed at promoting health. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive and secure environment for all individuals, aligning with the hospital's core values and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and maintain accurate patient health records
- Design and implement direct care plans for pediatric patients
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess and enhance patient care
- Provide education to patients, their families, and caregivers
- Identify educational needs and engage in relevant activities to address them
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff
- Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current registration as a practicing RN
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in pediatric PACU or pediatric critical care
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
