Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Rehabilitation Services team in the Department of Health. As a licensed healthcare professional, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering Speech Language Pathology services to all populations in the Qikiqtaaluk Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and deliver Speech Language Pathology services to individuals of all ages with speech, language, fluency, pragmatic, voice, and/or swallowing disorders or delays.
  • Make decisions regarding all aspects of client care, including clinical supervision of Community Therapy Assistants.
  • Develop and deliver skills training to families, communities, home-care workers, community members, organizations, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager, Rehabilitation Services, to achieve the goals and objectives of the Rehabilitation Services team.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Certification and membership in the Speech-Language Audiology Canada (SAC).
  • Registration with a provincial licensing body.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience.
Assets
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktitut, English, French).
  • Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
