Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at peopleCare Communities. As a member of our nursing team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse and reporting to the Director of Care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing and personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and assisting with daily routines.
  • Review 24-72 hour reports at the beginning of each shift and follow physician orders.
  • Administer medications and treatments within the limitations set by the College of Nurses.
  • Monitor residents' conditions and report any changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Assure observance with required techniques in nursing care and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Participate in the development and modification of resident care plans and assist in implementing and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team and maintain a cooperative relationship with staff members.
  • Perform other related functions as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Current Medication Administration Certificate or equivalent.
  • Current certificate of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care considered an asset.
  • Registered with a regulatory body.
  • Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
  • Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer focus skills.
