About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team at Yama Contracting. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all painting and decorating work is completed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and Clean Surfaces: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring they are free from dust, dirt and other contaminants.
  • Repair and Fill: Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings, and fill any gaps or holes to create a smooth surface.
  • Mix and Apply Paint: Mix paint to the desired colour and texture, and apply it to interior and exterior surfaces using a variety of techniques.
  • Work with Various Materials: Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Work Environment: Work outdoors and in confined spaces, and be able to work at heights.
  • Work Setting: Work at various locations, including on-site customer service.
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
