Position Overview:

As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the assigned premises. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding promptly to alarms and service requests
  • Conducting thorough inspections of the property
  • Supervising security personnel
  • Assisting in the scheduling of shifts
  • Acting as a liaison for clients
  • Overseeing vehicle maintenance

This role demands a high level of professionalism, effective communication, strong time management, critical thinking, and analytical skills, along with adherence to proper procedures and documentation.

Qualifications:

- A diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required.
- A valid G Class driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience is essential.
- Submission of a driver’s abstract is necessary, with no more than 2 minor convictions, no major convictions, and no more than 6 demerits in the last three years.
- Previous experience in security is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, tact, and diplomacy are required.
- A High School Diploma or GED is necessary.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR Level C is required.
- COVID-19 vaccination (double dose) is mandatory.
- A valid Ontario Security License is essential.

Prerequisites for Interview:

Applicants must provide proof of the following at the time of the interview:

  • A valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Proficiency in English (both oral and written)
  • A Vulnerable Sector Check
  • A G License
  • A clean driving abstract

Mandatory Training Requirements:

Successful candidates must complete the following training provided by Paladin prior to placement:

  • First Aid & CPR – Level C
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior
  • Use of Force
  • Report Writing
  • Additional courses as assigned

Certification Requirements:

- Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
- Valid Ontario Security License
