About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Underwriter to join our team at National Bank. As a key member of our Medical Underwriting department, you will play a critical role in evaluating and interpreting diverse information to assess the insurability of clients applying for loan insurance and individual insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess complex files, including post-issue underwriting, and make informed decisions in accordance with established standards and processes.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple files, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, communicating effectively and providing personalized correspondence.
  • Support less experienced colleagues through coaching and knowledge transfer, promoting a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team of 7 colleagues, working closely with the Underwriter's Manager to achieve shared goals and objectives. Our team is known for its expertise in underwriting, medical and insurance knowledge, and commitment to workplace well-being.

Requirements
  • College diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years in underwriting, with ALU exams 1 and 2, or 7 years in underwriting experience.
