Job Title: Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer

We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer to join our team at JD Collins Fire Protection Company INC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing sprinkler systems in various locations. This is a permanent position requiring a strong background in fire protection and a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports
  • Select, measure, cut, ream, and thread pipe
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools
  • Service and repair sprinkler system
  • Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Test system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 5 years or more of experience in fire protection
  • Sprinkler System Installer Red Seal Certificate
  • Driver's License
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to handle heavy loads and work in a variety of locations.
