Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join our team at JD Collins Fire Protection Company INC. As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining sprinkler systems, ensuring the safety of our clients and their properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports
  • Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipe
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools
  • Service and repair sprinkler system
  • Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Test system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Valid driver's license
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads and working in various locations.
