The Opportunity:

The Production Supervisor is a key player in our manufacturing operations. This role involves leading and mentoring team members, ensuring that safety is prioritized, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in driving performance and inspiring your team to achieve excellence.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direct oversight to production staff in the designated area.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production processes.
  • Participate in safety audits and compliance checks.
  • Drive improvements in manufacturing processes, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Uphold employee safety and adhere to workplace health regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety procedures.
  • Maintain positive relations with union representatives and members.
  • Administer collective bargaining agreements effectively.
  • Facilitate open communication between hourly and salaried staff.
  • Embody the core values of Maple Leaf Foods in all interactions.
  • Be available for overtime as necessary.
  • Ensure production lines meet established targets.
  • Achieve departmental health and safety objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven leadership abilities and initiative.
  • Commitment to best manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations is advantageous.
