We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncology Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer. As a General Practitioner in Cancer Care, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of reducing the incidence of cancer and improving the quality of life for those living with cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in cancer care, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
- Eligibility for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia.
- Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment.
- Suitability for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities, and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism reports.
