Job Title: General Practitioner in Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Practitioner in Oncology to join our team at BC Cancer in Kelowna. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner in Oncology to join our well-established team in Penticton, BC. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive cancer care to patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, and contributing to the education and training of medical students and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Contribute to the education and training of medical students and residents
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our cancer services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Eligibility for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia
  • Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment
  • Suitability for appointment to the University of British Columbia
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports
