About the Role

Spark Power is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team in the Southern Alberta region. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a zero-incident workplace by following all Health and Safety policies.
  • Routine Safety Documentation: Complete safety documentation before every job, including tailgate meetings and electrical work permits.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities to maximize performance and production.
  • Energization/De-energization: Perform energization and de-energization procedures as required.
  • LOTO Plans: Follow and implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) plans and procedures.
  • Schematic Interpretation: Interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions.
  • OEM Maintenance: Follow OEM-specific maintenance requirements, as well as company standards and industry best practices.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide daily digital reporting and documentation of all work performed.
  • Teamwork: Work in a team-based environment and independently as necessary.
  • On-Call Services: Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating schedule.
  • Issue Identification: Identify and provide feedback on issues and ongoing development of projects.
  • Overtime: Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Site Maintenance: Ensure sites are clean and safe, including buildings, vegetation, fences, gates, roads, etc.
  • Spare Parts Inventory: Maintain organized and clean spare parts inventory.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Post-Secondary Education in Electrical or Mechanical Field (Asset)
  • State Certified Journeyman License (Asset)
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) (Asset)
  • Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to Lift 75lb
  • Positive Attitude and Strong Work Ethic
  • Digital Literacy (proficiency with mobile apps and software)
