Sun Life is seeking a seasoned Director, Enterprise Data Architecture to lead our data architecture team. This role is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive enterprise data strategy, aligning with business and technology partners to deliver world-class data and analytics systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a data architecture strategy that supports business growth and innovation.
- Lead data strategy engagements with business line executives and define data architectures for enterprise engagements.
- Develop data architecture patterns, define playbooks, and technologies to support data-driven decision-making.
- Establish and provide governance on enterprise data architecture and technology standards.
- Define and create semantic layers, ontologies, and knowledge graphs to enable data integration and analytics.
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to lead technology POCs and pilots in the data and analytics domain.
- Provide enterprise data architecture leadership and guidance on the design of end-to-end solutions for building data & analytics applications on cloud and on-premise platforms.
- Strategic enterprise data architecture engagement skills with executive-level stakeholders.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-based data architecture in a modern AWS environment.
- Approximately 15+ years of build/design experience related to data service design, building data architecture, with prior experience leading end-to-end implementations.
- Strong knowledge of MDM, RDM, data modeling techniques, data architecture patterns, and semantic layer, ontologies, and knowledge graphs.
- Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and/or Snowflake, and Informatica IICS, (or similar).
- Experience with data analytics and visualization using modern tools such as AWS Sagemaker, R Studio, Tableau (or similar).
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, conceptual, and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration and leadership skills, a proven ability to adapt to challenges, and a strong interest in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
