Job Grade: Grade 3
Compensation Range: $20.50– 22.61 per hour
Company Overview: McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a dedicated Supply Operator to enhance our operational efficiency. The successful candidate will undergo training in various functions within the Prepared Foods facility, focusing on sanitation and supply management. This role is physically demanding and requires a proactive approach to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and prioritize safety. Engage in the STEP program for behavioral safety observations.
- Work flexible shifts on a rotating schedule.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of equipment while maintaining an organized workspace; complete daily housekeeping reports.
- Identify and report any product quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain adequate packaging supplies, including shooks, sleeves, and domes.
- Perform cleaning duties throughout the packaging process.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED is mandatory.
- Availability to work rotating shifts is essential.
- Basic computer skills are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to lift approximately 35-40 lbs. consistently.
- Calm and responsible response to unexpected situations.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate completion of production forms.
- Willingness to adapt to changes in daily operations.
- Successful completion of a 90-day training period is required.
Additional Duties:
- Comply with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Operate all relevant equipment associated with assigned tasks.
- Make minor adjustments to machinery and document packaging codes as necessary.
- Stay informed about changes in policies and requirements.
- Conduct sanitation tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment as required.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Meet SQCDPE targets by understanding and setting KPIs.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Safety and Promotion: Candidates must demonstrate a strong safety record and commitment to a safety-first culture. Promotion considerations include ability, training, experience, attendance, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be a key factor when other qualifications are comparable.
