Position Overview:

The Pharmacovigilance Team Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Pharmacovigilance department, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures while fostering a supportive environment for team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manages the Pharmacovigilance team, performing assigned duties and addressing workload fluctuations as necessary.
  • Builds and nurtures professional relationships to enhance team performance and departmental success.
  • Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, providing guidance and tracking compliance.
  • Regularly communicates with management regarding operational and quality issues, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Oversees employee scheduling and resource allocation to meet service demands efficiently.
  • Continuously evaluates and refines scheduling processes to align with patient safety and operational standards.
  • Assists in policy development and implementation, addressing any unusual situations in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Identifies and reports any staff adherence issues to management, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborates with other supervisors and managers to address scheduling challenges and resource distribution.
  • Analyzes workforce management metrics and attendance statistics to inform decision-making.

Management Duties:

  • Supervises and evaluates team performance, setting clear goals and conducting performance reviews.
  • Regularly assesses team objectives and provides constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Serves as a mentor for new hires, facilitating their integration and training within the Pharmacovigilance framework.
  • Encourages ongoing education and motivates the team to achieve departmental goals and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Monitors quality and accuracy of work, providing feedback to enhance both technical skills and customer service abilities.
  • Ensures all team members are informed of relevant policies and procedures, interpreting these as necessary.
  • Identifies the need for policy updates and communicates these to management for consideration.
  • Maintains regular communication with internal stakeholders to address training and development needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stays informed about advancements in technology and processes relevant to Pharmacovigilance.
  • Assists in resolving technical issues and supports staff in developing independence in troubleshooting.
  • Collaborates with quality assurance teams to address risk incidents and quality concerns.
  • Promotes a culture of respect and operational efficiency within the organization.
  • Prioritizes patient safety and ensures timely case processing.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Pharmacist, or other relevant healthcare qualifications.
  • 4-5 years of experience in team management and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Bilingual proficiency is essential.
  • 4-5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance practices.
  • Experience in conducting pharmacovigilance audits is preferred.
