Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manages the Pharmacovigilance team, ensuring all assigned duties are performed competently. Supervisors are expected to handle program-related responsibilities throughout the month, which may include addressing sensitive cases or ensuring the team is informed about program activities.
  • Fosters strong working relationships that contribute to the development and success of each team member and the department as a whole.
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of all relevant policies, procedures, and processes, communicating these effectively to staff while ensuring compliance.
  • Provides consistent feedback to management regarding quality, operational, technical, and process-related issues, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversees employee scheduling based on projected demand, ensuring efficient delivery of Pharmacovigilance services.
  • Implements and continuously evaluates scheduling processes to meet customer service demands, patient safety requirements, and operational standards.
  • Assists management in developing and executing policies and practices, responding to policy directives and seeking guidance in unusual situations.
  • Identifies and reports any non-compliance with scheduling policies or attendance issues to management regularly.
  • Collaborates with other supervisors and managers to resolve scheduling conflicts and assess resource allocations for cross-training.
  • Refers any requests for scheduling changes that deviate from established policies to management for guidance.
  • Works closely with management and other Pharmacovigilance leaders to analyze workforce management and attendance metrics.

Management of the Pharmacovigilance Team:

  • Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the performance of the Pharmacovigilance team, setting goals and conducting performance appraisals in line with company policies.
  • Regularly reviews team and individual goals, providing performance summaries in a clear and timely manner.
  • Acts as a mentor for new hires during their orientation, supporting training activities and ensuring their success.
  • Encourages participation in continuing education to achieve departmental and business objectives.
  • Monitors calls for quality assurance, providing feedback on both soft skills and technical accuracy.
  • Ensures staff are knowledgeable about all relevant policies and procedures, interpreting them as needed.
  • Identifies necessary changes to existing policies and communicates these to management for consideration.
  • Maintains regular communication with internal stakeholders regarding the needs of the Pharmacovigilance team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stays updated on technology and communication tools used in the provision of services.
  • Assists in resolving basic technical issues and maintains technical support documentation.
  • Collaborates with management and quality assurance teams to address risk incidents and quality concerns.
  • Promotes a culture of respect, integrity, and patient-focused service among all staff.
  • Prioritizes patient safety and understands the importance of timely case processing.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Pharmacist, or another healthcare professional.
  • 4-5 years of experience in team management and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams.
  • Bilingual proficiency is required.
  • 4-5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance.
  • Experience in conducting pharmacovigilance audits.
