Position - Senior Character Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Character Artist to join our Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality character models and working closely with various teams, including Concept Art, Animation, Rigging, Game Design, and Rendering.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement industry-leading character models.
  2. Create props and hard-surface elements in relation to characters.
  3. Collaborate with rendering engineers to create highly realistic skin, hair, and material shaders.
  4. Work with the Artistic Director and Concept Artists to understand artistic intentions and deadlines.
  5. Think creatively and seek relevant references to solve daily artistic challenges.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Strong understanding of anatomy and proportions.
  2. Knowledge of form, shape language, and color.
  3. Understanding of technical constraints in game development and ability to apply them when creating characters.
  4. Deep technical knowledge of character-related shaders and ability to create realistic-looking skin and hair.
  5. Strong work ethic, self-direction, and artistic vision.
  6. Solid knowledge of digital sculpting tools, such as ZBrush or equivalent software.
  7. Proficient in video game editing and development tools.
  8. Understanding of usability principles and information architecture.
  9. Strong communication and collaboration skills with team members across multiple disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Expertise in UE4 and strong interests toward UE5.
  2. Interest in GaaS projects and adaptability to customization and production of character assets in an online gaming environment.
  3. A sharp eye for UX design and a passion for visual communication.
  4. A highly creative and innovative spirit.
