About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at ENNIO'S PASTA HOUSE INC. as a Pastry Specialist. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, bread, and desserts for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Pastry Preparation: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Baking and Decorating: Bake mixed dough and batters, and frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Inspection and Organization: Inspect kitchen and food service areas, and organize and maintain inventory.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant.
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
  • Food Specialties: Breads and rolls, desserts and pastries, wedding and specialty cakes, donuts and muffins, cake decorating, and chocolate.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, own vehicle, and public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, judgment, reliability, team player, patience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months, permanent position, 35 to 50 hours per week, and English language.
