Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly skilled Director of Risk Management for Plan Operations to become an integral part of our team at the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). In this pivotal role, you will provide senior leadership in the assessment, development, and enhancement of the Division's risk and control framework. Your responsibilities will include leading the creation, execution, and upkeep of a comprehensive risk and evaluation structure for pension administration functions, as well as working closely with other divisions to identify and oversee risks and their corresponding mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the ongoing advancement of the risk and evaluation framework
  • Design, implement, and sustain operational and financial control measures
  • Collaborate with audit teams and guide the development of a deep understanding of operational risks and controls
  • Partner with the Risk Division to enhance enterprise risk management practices
  • Lead and mentor a team of experts in operational risk management and controls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Preferred professional accounting or risk management certification
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in risk management, finance, or investment sectors
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls and operational risk management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
