Job Title: Social Worker

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide professional, skilled psychosocial assessment and interventions to individuals, families, and groups, utilizing their expertise to assist clients in coping with and adapting to health-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial assessments and interventions to individuals, families, and groups, utilizing a range of techniques to promote health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement effective care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Offer individual counseling, family therapy, and group work, as needed, to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Participate in program development, evaluation, and research activities, contributing to the advancement of social work practice and healthcare outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school/faculty, or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Four years' recent and relevant experience preferred.
  • Registration with Manitoba College of Social Workers required.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and reliable vehicle may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postgraduate training in specialized services.
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
