At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide professional psychosocial assessment and interventions to individuals, families, and groups, utilizing their expertise to assist clients in coping with and adapting to health-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled psychosocial assessment and interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team, interpreting social, psychological, emotional, and family problems to the team.
- Develop client educational materials, provide client education, and participate in professional and research programs.
- Program development, program evaluation, community development, promoting advocacy, financial and administrative management, and leadership activities.
- Four years' recent and relevant experience preferred.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school/faculty, or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
- Postgraduate training in specialized services preferred.
- Must be registered with Manitoba College of Social Workers.
- Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams. May encounter aggressive and/or agitated client/visitors/staff. May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress. May be occasionally required to work extended hours.
