About the Job:
As a Gym Attendant at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing, you will be responsible for maintaining the functions and activities of the massage department. This includes cleaning and appearance of the massage area, whirlpool/sauna areas, and common areas, as well as orienting staff and attending to guests. You will also be responsible for organizing and confirming massage requests and reservations, and communicating with the Lodge and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the massage area, whirlpool/sauna areas, and common areas
- Orient staff and attend to guests
- Organize and confirm massage requests and reservations
- Communicate with the Lodge and other departments
- Set an example for massage staff to follow procedures
- Assist and encourage staff to keep massage facilities, gym, and equipment secure, clean, and maintained
- Correct any violations of company policy
- Maintain good working relationships with all departments
- Represent MWHS with integrity
- Maximize relationships with guests and contacts
- Implement departmental policies and procedures
- Participate in emergency planning and response
- Comply with all provincial and federal regulations
Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience in the hospitality industry with guest service orientation, sales, and reservations experience
- Certified yoga instructor
- Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
- Good working knowledge of massage therapy
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of guests and offer solutions
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
- Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships
- Professional email and telephone communications
- General administration experience
- High level of proficiency with resort booking software, guest relationship management software, and Microsoft Excel
- Ski industry knowledge preferred
- Dynamic and energetic personality
- Willing to work a flexible schedule
- Strong knowledge of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of a second language (preferably German) is an asset
Compensation:
$21.00 per hour, plus auto gratuities, season completion bonus $1 per hour
