Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, guaranteeing that all personnel operate safely and utilize the necessary protective equipment. Promote accident prevention by regularly reviewing and suggesting enhancements to safety practices and procedures. Investigate and report all safety hazards promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed. Provide a secure and healthy work environment through effective training and communication regarding operational procedures and equipment use. Complete all necessary reports related to accidents, inspections, audits, and safety observations, forwarding them to the appropriate departments. Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with safety standards. Facilitate daily safety meetings to share safety instructions and address concerns, documenting discussions for review. Collaborate with underground supervisors to develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans, ensuring the availability of manpower and resources. Organize and allocate necessary resources to meet production targets, optimizing personnel and equipment utilization. Ensure sufficient materials are available to enhance productivity. Follow and implement maintenance and production plans effectively. Administer maintenance schedules to support optimal operational performance. Schedule daily activities to maximize the efficient use of personnel and resources. Conduct physical inspections to verify that work meets company standards for quality and safety. Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment performance to enhance departmental efficiency. Ensure that all completed work supports the activities of subsequent shifts, communicating necessary information during shift changes. Enforce compliance with all relevant rules and regulations consistently and fairly. Anticipate operational challenges and implement solutions through effective troubleshooting. Apply appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Develop and implement a training plan to ensure all team members receive necessary training. Assess the need for position postings and manage them as required. Maintain positive working relationships across departments and with contractors. Communicate effectively with management and staff to review operations and address any issues. Participate in planning meetings to align on operational direction. Provide timely feedback to supervisors and team members. Required Qualifications: At least 10 years of relevant trade experience, with a preference for candidates holding a Trades Ticket. Previous supervisory experience is advantageous. U/G Common Core certification is preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Commitment to Barrick's core values is expected. Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment is mandatory. Proven track record of good attendance and performance is essential.
