Job Title: Occupational Therapist

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their occupational performance goals and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their occupational performance needs and develop personalized plans to meet those needs.
  • Design and implement interventions to support clients in achieving their occupational performance goals.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) is required.
  • Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new concepts and techniques in occupational therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and in various healthcare settings.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment as needed.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids.
