Position Title: Senior Finance Planning Analyst

The Enterprise Real Estate (ERE) division plays a crucial role in managing the operational spaces of the Bank, encompassing everything from retail branches to corporate offices across North America.

The ERE Finance team is tasked with delivering comprehensive financial support, in-depth analysis, reporting, strategic guidance, and decision-making assistance to the Real Estate management team as follows:

Take ownership of producing detailed, innovative, and precise reports on actual performance; conduct thorough analyses of current performance, manage forecasts effectively, and provide actionable recommendations.

Generate and present financial management materials, support business case analyses or strategic discussions, continuously refine reporting processes, and offer strategic insights and advice.

Ensure robust financial controls (including policies, attestations, accruals, and PCAs) are established to maintain an accurate and well-managed Profit and Loss statement.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Finance, this role is pivotal in overseeing the performance and expense management of the Canadian Corporate Real Estate portfolio.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and technical skills, with the capability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.

Conduct monthly analyses and reporting of expenses related to the Canadian Corporate Real Estate portfolio. Assist in the preparation of expense reporting packages, including slide presentations, dashboards, flash reports, and ad-hoc analyses as necessary.

Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with Business Partners, Segment Finance, Enterprise Decision Support, and other key stakeholders.

Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to optimize the overall workflow of financial processes.

Exhibit a questioning mindset, actively investigate variances from expected outcomes, and assist in the timely resolution of issues, escalating matters to the Senior Manager and AVP as needed.

Recognize and understand risks and challenges, providing valuable recommendations and insights.

Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the systems utilized for expense reporting and analysis, identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance overall effectiveness.

Support the team in initiatives aimed at enhancing expense automation, report centralization, standardization, and other process improvements.
A bachelor's degree with an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) is preferred.
~ A solid understanding of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS. Experience with lease accounting is advantageous.
~ A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance/Management Reporting, including planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
~ High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
~ Familiarity with the Bank's management and financial reporting processes, along with knowledge of the Bank's financial reporting systems and tools (such as Hyperion, Alteryx, and Tableau) is a significant asset.
~ Strong comfort level in presenting to executive leadership.
