Position Overview

As a Senior Financial Analyst within the Corporate Finance division, you will play a pivotal role in financial evaluation and reporting. This position is essential for fostering strong collaborations across various teams, ensuring financial insights are effectively communicated and utilized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-End Activities: Execute and finalize balance sheet, working capital, SG&A, and legal forecasts. Engage with business leaders to comprehend and scrutinize business unit forecasts.
  • Monthly SG&A Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and reporting of SG&A expenses. Establish strong communication with administrative leaders regarding variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • KPI Reporting: Generate and maintain key performance indicators for SG&A.
  • Cross-Border Liaison: Serve as a communication bridge between Canadian and US Corporate Finance teams.
  • Budget Process Participation: Actively engage with business leaders throughout the budget upload and submission process, ensuring accuracy and soundness of assumptions.
  • P&L Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of profit and loss statements, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Lead projects aimed at enhancing forecasting processes.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Provide additional reporting as required by management.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Quick learner with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated capacity for problem-solving under tight deadlines.

Educational Background

  • Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • CPA certification or nearing completion is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced skills required).
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Adaptive, SAP, Power BI, and Oracle is advantageous.
  • Minimal travel may be necessary.
