Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at the South Health Unit in Vancouver, BC. As a Public Health Nurse with VCH, you will play a vital role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize public health nursing knowledge and expertise to develop and implement health promotion programs and services that address the needs of diverse populations.
  • Provide comprehensive health services, including prevention, health promotion, and early intervention, to individuals and groups in community-based settings.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance public health goals and objectives.
  • Identify and address health disparities and inequities through evidence-informed interventions and strategies.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a specialty nursing certificate, such as a 20-hour breastfeeding education program, and a BCCDC immunization certificate.
  • Two years of recent, related public health nursing experience, including experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a 20-hour breastfeeding certificate, the BCCDC Immunization certificate, and experience working with the 0 to 5 population.
