We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Assistant at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating activities that cater to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in and adhere to continuous quality improvement standards.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate activities that meet the needs of our residents.
- Communicate activities to residents, staff, families, and the community to encourage participation.
- Lead and promote resident awareness and participation in leisure, social, and recreation programs.
- Assist in the maintenance of department records, including attendance, assessments, and evaluations of planned programs.
- Maintain a positive image of the residence through ongoing communications with the community, local media, family members, staff, and volunteers.
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Prior experience in recreation programming for a senior population is preferred.
- Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology is considered an asset.
- Class 5 operator's license, clean driving record, and 2 years passenger driving experience.
- Certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR required.
- Valid alcohol serving certification and CanFitPro certification preferred.
- Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite with an adaptability to handle database programs.
- Dementia experience/knowledge is considered an asset.
