About the PositionThis role plays a critical part in enhancing the Faculty of Engineering's research support, advancing all aspects of research in the Faculty. Working closely with senior leadership, this position promotes Engineering research consistent with the Faculty's strategic plan, collaborating with members of the Faculty and various units across the University.
Key Responsibilities- Reviewing proposals prior to submission to ensure compliance with University policy and Federal regulations
- Managing applications that require ethics approval, award review, and set-up for long-term management
- Advising on non-financial compliance issues and providing administrative support for research-related projects
- Coordinating with inter-faculty units and offices for specific events and projects
- Managing research chair and funding allocations, post-award support, compliance, and reporting
- Developing and maintaining a database and calendar of grants and awards for the Faculty of Engineering
- Providing administrative oversight for proposed internal award changes and facilitating reporting as required
- Designing and leading undergraduate summer research award competitions and summer research programming
- University degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in an academic research environment, including experience developing applications for Canadian and provincial funding, administering complex projects, and working with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
